Emergency responders at the scene of a motorcycle accident in Cancún's Edén neighborhood

Cancún, Quintana Roo — A motorcycle crash into a wall in Cancún’s Edén neighborhood on Saturday afternoon left one man dead and another critically injured, authorities reported.

The accident occurred around 4:20 p.m. at the intersection of Constituyentes Avenue and Alondra Avenue. According to initial reports, two men were traveling on the motorcycle at excessive speed when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

After losing stability, the motorcycle veered off course and crashed into a wall belonging to the Aguakan company. The impact threw both occupants onto the pavement.

Witnesses immediately called emergency services. Paramedics arrived minutes later and confirmed one of the motorcyclists showed no vital signs.

Preliminary information indicates the man died from severe head trauma after being thrown against the curb edge, causing almost instantaneous death.

The second occupant sustained serious injuries and was stabilized before being urgently transported to the city’s General Hospital for specialized medical care.

Municipal and state police officers cordoned off the area to prevent vehicle and pedestrian access while preserving potential evidence related to the crash.

Later, criminal investigators and personnel from the Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office conducted corresponding procedures, including removing the body for transfer to the Forensic Medical Service for legal processing.

Authorities have opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the accident and assign any corresponding responsibilities.
