Teqroo Tribunal Clears Lili Campos and “Chanito” of Allegations

The Quintana Roo Electoral Tribunal (Teqroo) has dismissed allegations made by the political party Morena against Lili Campos Miranda, the mayor of Solidaridad. Morena had accused Campos Miranda of improperly using images and information about city council activities and accomplishments for social propaganda. However, in the case file PES/138/2024, the judges found no evidence of a breach of Article 134 of the Federal Constitution, or any violation of neutrality, impartiality, or equity principles.

The tribunal also dismissed Morena's claims against José Luis “Chanito” Toledo Medina in case file PES/141/2024. Morena had alleged that Toledo Medina, by continuing to identify himself as a former municipal syndic candidate after his registration had been revoked, was causing confusion among voters.

Further accusations made by Morena in the special sanctioned process PES/139/2024, against Luis Mario Ramírez Campos, the director of municipal public services, and several political parties, were also dismissed. Morena had claimed that these parties were responsible for gender-based political violence.

The tribunal, after reviewing the content of the reported publications, concluded that the criticisms leveled at the complainant were part of a robust debate, and that the public official had merely shared a media publication.
