Mexico City — The Vive Latino festival announced a last-minute lineup change for its 2026 edition after American musician Moby informed organizers he cannot perform, surprising fans who had expected to see him on stage.
The news was confirmed Thursday through the festival’s official social media channels, which detailed that the artist canceled due to unforeseen circumstances beyond his control. In the same message, Moby expressed his affection and gratitude toward his fans.
The cancellation prompted various reactions from the performer’s followers, who had shown enthusiasm for his participation in one of Latin America’s most significant music events.
- “I only bought my ticket for Moby. Does anyone want to buy a ticket for March 15?”
- “How weird, it’s always right before the event date that the bands you mainly signed up to see have to cancel.”
- “Good thing they announced it, because I was going to spend money just to see them. I hope they come back solo or at Corona,” wrote some fans.
In response to this change, event organizers announced the addition of American DJ and producer Steve Aoki, who will take Moby’s place in the festival program.
The renowned electronic music artist was presented as one of the new headlining acts for Vive Latino, which will take place at Estadio GNP Seguros. Steve Aoki is internationally known for his dynamic performances and energetic stage style.
With a consolidated career and several hits that have achieved global popularity, the DJ promises to deliver a show full of visual effects and strong audience interaction.
It’s worth noting that Vive Latino 2026 is scheduled for March 14 and 15 in Mexico City, bringing together various national and international figures from different musical genres.
For this edition, the festival aims to recapture part of its original essence, highlighting the presence of acts linked to 1990s rock, including the bands Santa Sabina, Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, and Enanitos Verdes, among others.
Organizers have reiterated that the event maintains its goal of being a cultural and musical space that brings together different generations and styles, promoting the sonic and artistic diversity that characterizes Vive Latino.
