Tragic Discovery: Missing Cancún Uber Driver Found Dead

The Mothers of Quintana Roo, a local group, announced on social media the tragic discovery of a deceased Uber driver who had gone missing in Cancún. The driver, Eduardo Bautista Olea, had recently joined Uber and was last seen by his family on April 17.

Family members stated that Bautista Olea left on an early morning trip to the El Ramal neighborhood, situated near the border of the Isla Mujeres municipality. After his departure, the family had no further contact with him.

The family also shared with media outlets that Bautista Olea was a hardworking individual who cared for his ailing mother. He had no known disputes or threats against him. The Mothers of Quintana Roo expressed their support for Eduardo's family and pledged to seek justice for his case.

The group posted on Facebook, "To the family, we reaffirm our support, our shoulder. We will uncover the truth of each event, and in the unfortunate case of Eduardo Bautista Olea, we will not rest until we know the truth. You are not alone! The Mothers of Quintana Roo offer our condolences and our strength to our partners and their relatives."

According to initial police reports, Bautista Olea's body was discovered in a well on Friday, April 26. The well was located on an agricultural plot in the Continental zone of Isla Mujeres. The discovery was made by a man who went to water his plants and noticed a body in the well. Authorities and emergency services retrieved the body the following day, Saturday, April 27. As of now, the State Attorney General's Office has not commented on the discovery of the missing Uber driver who disappeared in Cancún on April 17.
