Quintana Roo, Mexico — The Secretariat of Tourism (Sectur) is promoting a unique excursion from Tulum to Punta Allen for the holiday season, targeting both national and international travelers. The 60-kilometer route traverses the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its ecological significance.
A Natural Adventure Along the Tulum-Punta Allen Route
The journey begins in Tulum, celebrated for its archaeological ruins overlooking the sea, crystal-clear cenotes, white-sand beaches, and a thriving culinary scene featuring acclaimed restaurants such as Hartwood and Arca. Travelers then cross the Muyil Lagoon and Boca Paila Bridge—a prime location for crocodile sightings—before arriving in Punta Allen, a fishing village that retains its authentic Caribbean charm.
Nature, Fishing, and Local Flavors
In Punta Allen, visitors can explore pristine beaches, coral reefs ideal for snorkeling, and sport fishing. The village also offers fresh local dishes, including lobster ceviche and grilled fish, prepared by residents. With a population of just 400, the destination emphasizes responsible ecotourism and an authentic experience in harmony with nature, according to the Secretariat of Tourism.
The promotion highlights Quintana Roo’s natural wonders while supporting sustainable tourism initiatives in the region.
