Mexico City — Thailand has removed Mexico from its visa-exempt list. Starting September 15, Mexican citizens will need an electronic visa to enter the country, Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) announced.
The ministry said on social media that Thailand “has modified entry requirements for holders of Mexican passports.” It urged Mexican travelers to “take precautions” ahead of the policy change.
Travelers will also have to complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online before arrival. The TDAC was already required of all visitors entering Thailand, regardless of immigration status.
The SRE recommended that people planning trips to Thailand monitor official announcements from Thai authorities in the coming weeks, saying more details about the procedure may be published before the new rules take effect.

The new requirement reverses the visa-free policy in place since June 2024, when Mexican citizens could stay in Thailand up to 60 days without a visa for tourism, business, or urgent work.
