Cancún — Municipal President Ana Paty Peralta led the 12th edition of the Municipal Urban Arborization Program 2025-2027, with the planting of 250 native trees, reaffirming her commitment to consolidating Cancún as a green, sustainable city with public policies in favor of ecology.

During the event, the Mayor highlighted the importance of increasing the city's vegetation cover by planting native species such as Maculis, Mahogany, Ciricote, and Chicozapote. The purpose is to improve the environment, reduce heat islands, prevent soil erosion, and strengthen community spaces.

With this planting, she detailed, the program has reached a total of 1,950 trees planted since its implementation began, moving closer to the goal of 11,000 trees projected for the 2025-2027 period, which contemplates seven phases of work in various priority areas of the city.

The Municipal President reiterated that these actions are part of the Benito Juárez City Council's commitment to sustainability and the quality of life of Cancún's residents, promoting strategies that strengthen urban ecology and citizen participation.

This edition saw the active participation of volunteers, civil associations, and representatives from the hotel sector. Among them were activist Alberto Charles Saldívar, a pioneer of Cancún and president of Fauna Digna, as well as members of the Cancún, Puerto Morelos, and Isla Mujeres Hotel Association and the Revolutionary Confederation of Workers and Peasants (CROC).

Finally, the head of the Ecology department, Fernando Haro Salinas, invited the residents of Cancún to participate in the next Program event, which will take place on Saturday, November 15.
