Tulum, Mexico — A man was fatally shot in the chest early Friday morning while working inside Pizzería Tulum, located on Andrómeda Street between Osiris and Orión Sur in the town’s central district. The attack occurred in front of customers and employees, who witnessed the incident but were unable to intervene.
Emergency Response and Immediate Aftermath
The assault was reported to emergency services via 911 shortly after midnight, with callers stating gunshots had been fired inside the establishment and requesting urgent medical attention for a wounded individual.
Paramedics from the Red Cross arrived at the scene, located just meters from Tulum’s Municipal Palace, and confirmed the victim showed no signs of life upon entering the pizzeria. Preliminary reports indicate the gunshot penetrated the victim’s chest and exited through his back, causing immediate death.
State police officers cordoned off the area to secure the crime scene while forensic specialists from the State Attorney General’s Office conducted the body removal and initiated investigative procedures.
Unanswered Questions
Authorities have not yet officially released the identity of the deceased, though initial accounts suggest he was an employee of the restaurant. No arrests have been made, and the motive behind the attack remains unclear.
