Violence Claims Life in Playa del Carmen’s Inn House

Playa del Carmen, Mexico — Violence struck the irregular settlement of Inn House again during the early hours of this Sunday, when a man was attacked with gunfire inside his car and subsequently set on fire, in an incident that is part of the growing criminal dispute for control of the area.

The attack occurred around 5:00 in the morning. According to testimonies, neighbors heard multiple gunshots and, minutes later, observed a vehicle engulfed in flames, with the victim still inside.

Elements of the Playa del Carmen Municipal Police arrived at the site and cordoned off the area, while paramedics managed to rescue the man alive, who had burns on a large part of his body.

The injured man was transported by emergency to a hospital; however, he died minutes later due to the severity of his wounds.
