TULUM, Quintana Roo — A man was left with a severed forearm after an alleged assailant, described by locals as a known criminal, attempted to rob him of his belongings. The incident occurred in Tulum, according to preliminary reports.
Details of the Attack
Local residents stated that the alleged criminal, along with several accomplices, surrounded the victim in a group and attempted to strip him of his possessions. As the victim attempted to defend himself, the aggressors inflicted a severe slash wound, described as a “rebanón,” which left him bleeding profusely.
Following the incident, the assailants fled the scene and have not been apprehended. Residents of the neighborhood provided initial aid to the injured man and called for medical assistance. A private ambulance unit arrived and transported the victim to a nearby hospital to receive specialized medical attention.
In the wake of this event, local residents have called for an increased presence of police forces, particularly during the evening hours when workers are returning home.
