Cancun, Quintana Roo — Authorities from the Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office have opened an investigation into the homicide of a man found inside a home in the Privada Pagalo neighborhood, on Avenida Chac Mool near Region 253 in Cancun.
The report came in the afternoon of Thursday, June 4, when neighbors called 911 after spotting what appeared to be a blood stain visible from outside the residence.
Officers from the Benito Juarez Public Security and Transit Department arrived to verify the report. Upon entering the home, they found a deceased person and requested paramedics, who confirmed the death.
According to information gathered at the scene, the victim had a wound to the neck. Neighbors reported that some of the man’s belongings, including valuables, were missing, leading investigators to consider robbery as a possible motive.
Residents said the victim was known in the neighborhood and made a living selling various products through online platforms and social media. Authorities have not officially released the victim’s identity.
Investigative police and forensic experts processed the scene at the home, located at lot 5, block 3, number 75, on Calle Cucullo. They collected evidence and documented the crime scene.
Officials also gathered footage from security cameras installed at various points in the private neighborhood to aid the investigation and determine the circumstances of the homicide.
