Cancún, Quintana Roo — A man was found dead inside a home in Cancún’s Region 244 on Saturday, with authorities investigating the case as a possible homicide.
The initial report came through the 911 emergency line, with a caller stating a deceased person was in a public area. Police officers from the Benito Juárez Municipal Public Security and Transit Department responded but initially could not locate the body during their search.

Upon arrival, officers found the door slightly ajar. After observing from outside that a man lay dead inside, they entered the residence.
During their inspection, police noted signs of violence on the victim’s face. They immediately notified state prosecutors and forensic experts to process the scene.
Authorities have begun standard investigative procedures, including evidence collection and removal of the body.
Additional information from sources near the location suggests the victim may have been a retired Mexican Army officer.
