Major Drug Bust in Quintana Roo: 11 Arrested

Benito Juárez, Quintana Roo — A coordinated operation led by the State Attorney General's Office, in collaboration with the National Defense Secretariat, the National Guard, and the Navy Secretariat, resulted in the arrest of 11 individuals and the seizure of various narcotics during five search warrants executed in Benito Juárez and Cozumel.

The judicial warrants, issued by control judges, were carried out at two properties in Cancún and three on the island of Cozumel.

Seizures and Arrests in Benito Juárez

In the city of Benito Juárez, authorities conducted searches on 84th Street in Supermanzana 228 and 75th Street in Supermanzana 234, where they seized marijuana, crystal meth, and substances similar to synthetic drugs.

Those detained in this municipality include Maximiliano “N”, Daniel “N”, Jonathan Ulises “N”, Joana Gabriela “N”, Marisol “N”, Venyhi Wanderley “N”, and Edwin Adrián “N”.

Cozumel Raids

In Cozumel, three search warrants were executed at residences in the 10 de Abril, San Miguel I, and Emiliano Zapata neighborhoods, where authorities secured marijuana, cocaine, crack, and crystal meth. During the operations, some dogs found on the properties were taken into custody by Animal Protection personnel.

The individuals detained on the island were identified as José del Carmen “N”, Cristofer Alaín “N”, Celestino “N”, and Ramiro “N”.

Following the searches, all properties were secured by the State Attorney General's Office. The detained individuals were placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office of the Specialized Attorney's Office in Combating Drug Trafficking, where the corresponding investigation case files are being assembled.

The legal status of the nine men and two women involved in these events is expected to be determined in the coming days.
