Isla Mujeres, a designated "Pueblo Mágico" (Magic Town), has been nominated in the category of "Leading Island Destination in Mexico and Central America." This marks the third consecutive year the island has received this recognition, reaffirming its status as a world-class tourist destination.

In 2022, Isla Mujeres was honored as the "Leading Island Destination in Mexico and Central America," a victory that highlighted the island’s reputation as a safe, clean, and well-organized destination. Mayor Gómez emphasized that this repeated nomination reflects the local government’s ongoing commitment to sustainable tourism, environmental preservation, and community well-being.
The mayor has actively promoted initiatives to maintain clean and safe beaches, improve mobility, and enhance public spaces. Iconic locations such as Playa Norte, Playa Centro, and Punta Sur continue to draw visitors with their natural beauty and tranquility.
