Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo — The tourism community of Isla Mujeres is preparing to celebrate the professionals and entrepreneurs who drive the development of the destination through public recognition in the 2025 edition of the Municipal Tourism Award "La Sirena del Caribe." The application process, which will be open from November 13 to November 20, invites service providers, cultural entrepreneurs, promoters of sustainable tourism, and key figures in the sector, such as hotel housekeepers, guides, and artisans, to apply in various categories.
The awards ceremony will be held on November 27 and will present a trophy crafted by local artisans, thereby recognizing the talent and dedication of those who maintain Isla Mujeres as one of the most prominent destinations in the Mexican Caribbean.
This recognition is part of broader efforts to strengthen the tourism competitiveness of the region, which has been an economic and cultural pillar for the state of Quintana Roo. The initiative also seeks to incentivize innovation and sustainability in the sector's practices, aligning with global trends of responsible and community-based tourism.
