Mexican golfer Isabella Fierro is set to compete in the Riviera Maya Open at Mayakoba. The tournament is scheduled to take place from May 22 to 25 in Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo. This announcement was confirmed by her new sponsor, GS Sports.
"We are embarking on a new chapter with Isabella," stated Gustavo Santoscoy García, CEO of GS Sports Management. The announcement took place at the Pan American Tennis Center in Zapopan, during the first UTS Guadalajara celebration.
Fierro expressed her excitement about her new partnership with GS Sports. She appreciated the company's interest in her as an individual, not just as an athlete. "In today's world, it's easy for sports to define you as a person. I visited all of GS Sports' offices and was impressed by the supportive environment. I know that each person will be there to support me, provide feedback, and they are all eager to learn," Fierro said.
Fierro will be participating in the LPGA Tour event in Mayakoba next May through an invitation from the organizers. She was unable to retain her LPGA Tour card for the current season. With Fierro's invitation, there will now be two Mexican golfers competing in Mayakoba, the other being Gaby López, an LPGA Tour player.
