Shadowboxer on Playa del Carmen Bridge Goes Viral

Playa del Carmen, Mexico — A video of a young man shadowboxing “in the pure style of Balboa” on a pedestrian footbridge in Playa del Carmen has gone viral, prompting reactions from users who asked, “Is that you, Rocky?” and called him “the next rival for Canelo.”

The iconic scene was recorded by user @raulsanchez847 while he was stuck in city traffic. Through his windshield, he noticed the young man in the distance on one of the pedestrian footbridges, practicing boxing movements while wearing a t-shirt and shorts.

The video, which is just over 30 seconds long and accompanied by one of the most famous audio clips from the movie “Rocky,” quickly began to go viral, attracting the attention of many viewers. The majority of comments congratulated the young man for his effort in each movement, with some even offering praise for his technique, which was compared to that of the next rival for famous Mexican boxer Canelo Álvarez.

To date, the video has accumulated more than 60 thousand views, three thousand likes, and just over 70 comments.
