Tulum, Quintana Roo — An individual identified as Kevin Adrián “N” was detained by security authorities in the community of Akumal, part of the municipality of Tulum, following an interagency surveillance operation in the area.
According to official information, the intervention occurred when personnel from the Secretariat of Citizen Security, through the Centurion Group and its Canine Unit, with support from elements of the Secretariat of the Navy, National Guard, and Secretariat of National Defense, detected the subject carrying packages with apparent illicit substances in a public area.
After corresponding inspection, the discovery of multiple doses of suspected marijuana and solid fragments with characteristics similar to a synthetic drug was confirmed, along with a backpack that was also secured as part of the evidence. Authorities indicated that the detainee could be linked to drug retail activities in the area.
The man was placed at the disposal of the State Attorney General’s Office, along with the secured items, for the integration of the investigation file and determination of his legal status in accordance with the law.
