Playa del Carmen, Mexico — A wild deer was successfully rescued this afternoon after being found injured in the Ejido neighborhood of Playa del Carmen. The animal was spotted by local residents on 5th Street between 95th and 100th Avenues, where it was observed suffering from a leg injury.

Coordinated Rescue Effort

Following reports from concerned residents, personnel from the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (Profepa), staff from Xcaret Park, and officers from the Municipal Police arrived at the scene. To minimize stress on the deer, the team opted to use a tranquilizer dart, ensuring a safe and controlled rescue operation.

Once the sedative took effect, the deer was immobilized and transported under Profepa custody to receive medical treatment. Authorities indicated that the animal is expected to be relocated to Xcaret Park, where it can recover under appropriate conditions.

The incident highlights ongoing efforts by local authorities and environmental organizations to protect wildlife in the region.
