Quintana Roo Ready for June 1 Judiciary Elections

Quintana Roo, Mexico — With two days remaining until Election Day, the National Electoral Institute (INE) in Quintana Roo has confirmed that preparations are complete for the electoral process scheduled for Sunday, June 1. This will mark the first time voters in the state will elect various positions within the Federal Judiciary (PEEPJF).

Key Positions on the Ballot

The positions to be voted on include:

  • Justices of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation
  • Magistrates of the Superior Chamber of the Electoral Court of the Federal Judiciary (TEPJF)
  • Magistrates of the Regional Chambers of the TEPJF
  • Magistrates of the Judicial Discipline Tribunal
  • Circuit Magistrates and District Judges

Election Logistics

During an extraordinary session of the Local Council, the INE in Quintana Roo stated that it is prepared to receive a total of 1,510,029 voters across 1,280 polling stations statewide. Polling stations will open at 8:00 a.m. and remain operational until 6:00 p.m., accommodating all voters in line by closing time.

To ensure a smooth electoral process, 12,299 polling station officials have been trained to guarantee that every vote is cast freely and secretly, adhering to the guiding principles of the electoral process.

Special Polling Stations

Four special polling stations will be set up in strategic locations to serve voters in transit:

  1. Playa del Carmen – Located at General Secondary School No. 10 "Ignacio Zaragoza," on 12 Norte Bis Street, Gonzalo Guerrero neighborhood.
  2. Chetumal – Situated at the Nohoch Sukun Multipurpose Gymnasium, on Avenida de los Insurgentes No. 380, 20 de noviembre neighborhood.
  3. Cancún – Two stations will operate:
    • One in the lobby of the Benito Juárez Municipal Palace, on Avenida Tulum, Supermanzana 5.
    • Another at the Public Space at Kilometer 0 of Boulevard Kukulkán in the Hotel Zone.

Electoral Observation

As of now, 2,539 electoral observers have been accredited, with an additional six expected to be approved, bringing the total to 2,545 observers across the state.

The INE in Quintana Roo reaffirmed its commitment to legality, impartiality, and transparency in the electoral process. It urged all citizens to participate in the June 1 election, exercising their right to vote freely, informedly, and responsibly.
