Cancún. A low-pressure channel over the east and southeast of the Mexican Republic, in combination with a cyclonic circulation in the middle and upper levels of the atmosphere in the northeast of the country, divergence over the Yucatán Peninsula, and the influx of moisture from the Pacific Ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean Sea, will cause showers and heavy rains in the aforementioned regions, with very heavy localized rains forecast for areas of Tabasco, Chiapas, and Quintana Roo.
In turn, a trough in the middle and upper levels of the atmosphere on the western coast of the United States, interacting with the polar and subtropical jet streams, will generate localized heavy rains and wind gusts of up to 50 km/h in Baja California, as well as showers in Sonora.
Finally, stable and rain-free weather will continue over entities in the north and west of the national territory; in addition to a cold to very cold environment during the night and early morning over entities of the Northern Plateau and the Central Plateau.
