Quintana Roo, Mexico — Mobile health caravans began touring communities in three Quintana Roo municipalities this week, offering free medical services to residents from February 9 to 13.
Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa urged residents to take advantage of the opportunity for check-ups at locations near their homes.
Municipalities and Communities Receiving Health Caravans
The mobile units from the Salud para Tod@s (Health for All) program will visit:
- Othón P. Blanco (Chetumal)
- Isla Mujeres (Continental Zone/Francisco May)
- Isla Mujeres (Continental Zone/La Victoria)
- Felipe Carrillo Puerto (José María Pino Suárez)
Schedule and Requirements
The caravans operate starting at 7:00 a.m. Residents need to bring a copy of their INE (voter ID) and CURP (unique population registry code) to access services.
Available services include:
- General consultations
- Specialized consultations
- Laboratory tests
- X-rays
- Ultrasounds
- Mammograms
- Electrocardiograms
- Dental care
- Vision services
- Hearing services
- Psychological care
- Nutritional counseling
- Free medication distribution
- Ambulance for emergency transfers
Program Impact
Governor Lezama emphasized that the health caravans represent a fundamental strategy to bring free, quality medical care to communities. Since the Salud para Tod@s program launched on April 12, 2023, through December 16, 2025, officials have provided 618,644 medical services, directly benefiting 136,924 people across the state.
The integrated care model includes more than 15 medical and technological services focused on early detection and timely treatment of diseases, covering both primary and specialized care for populations in need.
