Yucatán has added a new lodging and tourist experience option with the opening of Hacienda Yaxnic, a private investment project that strengthens the state's offerings, generates jobs, and expands development opportunities in this district of Mérida.
The inauguration took place with the presence of state authorities, representatives of the private sector, and residents of the area. The event was led by the Secretary of Tourism Development, Darío Flota Ocampo, accompanied by the general director of Hacienda Yaxnic, Luciel Gómez; the sales manager, Patricia González Casariego; and the commissioner of Yaxnic, Silvia Angélica Yam Medina.
A Commitment to Growth and Confidence
During his message, the head of the Secretariat of Tourism Development highlighted that this opening reflects the confidence of private investment in Yucatán as a safe, stable, and forward-thinking destination, promoted by the Government of the Mayan Renaissance headed by Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena.
He also indicated that this project represents a concrete opportunity for Yucatecan families, generating 25 direct and 50 indirect jobs, which contributes to the social well-being and economic development of the community.
With this addition, Yucatán surpasses 17,000 hotel rooms, strengthening its position as one of the most competitive destinations in southeastern Mexico, both in leisure tourism and in the meetings and business segment.
Blending History, Nature, and Modern Amenities
Located in the Yaxnic precinct, this hacienda offers an environment where nature, culture, and rest converge, in tune with new trends of sustainable tourism.
The complex features a Cenote Club, restaurant, museum, chapel, lodging areas, and event spaces, which will diversify the experience of visitors and strengthen the tourism value chain in the region.
Accompanied by the Director of Social Development and Combating Poverty of the Mérida City Council, Arturo León Itzá, the official highlighted that this project recovers the historical essence of a hacienda and combines it with contemporary services, giving rise to an authentic tourist proposal that enriches the identity of the destination.
Finally, the head of the Secretariat of Tourism Development reiterated the State Government's commitment to continue promoting conditions of competitiveness and trust, in order to boost investments that consolidate Yucatán as a destination not only to visit, but also to invest and grow.
