Cancún Theater’s High-Tech Upgrade Saves Energy

Cancún — The Cancún Theater has announced a historic renovation of its technical infrastructure, with the installation of state-of-the-art lighting and audio systems that place it at the forefront of performance venues. The modernization, which involved an investment exceeding 8 million 800 thousand pesos, will elevate the quality of shows and consolidate the venue as a cultural reference point in the region.

The update, coinciding with its 25th anniversary, includes high-performance LED devices, which allow for energy savings of between 76% and 80% thanks also to its intelligent control systems, a new distribution board, renewed acoustic panels, and a maximum fidelity audio system that guarantees clarity and precision in every note, word, and sound effect.

One of the most notable achievements is the positive environmental impact:

• 86 HALOGEN HOUSE LIGHTS WERE REPLACED WITH LEDS, REDUCING CONSUMPTION FROM 5,275 WATTS TO 1,028 WATTS (80% ENERGY SAVINGS).
• ON STAGE, CONSUMPTION DROPPED FROM 115,000 WATTS TO 27,128 WATTS (76% LESS).
• IN TOTAL, 200 HALOGEN LIGHTS WERE REPLACED BY 96 NEW-GENERATION LEDS.
• 18 RIGGING POINTS (CEILING ANCHORS) WITH A CAPACITY OF 500 KG WERE INSTALLED TO SUPPORT VARIOUS SCENOGRAPHIES, AS WELL AS 300 ACOUSTIC PANELS TO OPTIMIZE THE SONIC EXPERIENCE.
