Othón P. Blanco, Quintana Roo — Governor Mara Lezama presented her Third Annual Government Report, highlighting the achievements of her administration under the model of the Fourth Transformation and the Humanist with a Feminist Heart project.
During the address, Lezama called upon the people of Quintana Roo to defend what has been accomplished and to deepen the transformation, emphasizing historic results in social welfare, health, education, security, and the fight against corruption.
“Not one step back in the transformation; we are on the right path with an honest government!” the state leader stated.
Among the most notable advances, the governor cited a 9.3% reduction in poverty rates, representing 177,000 residents of Quintana Roo who have risen out of that condition, marking the lowest level recorded in the last 15 years.
She highlighted care provided to more than 16,000 women through Mobile Health Caravans, facilitating the timely detection of diseases. Also noted were female empowerment programs, such as "Mujer es Poder" (Woman is Power) and "Mujer es Aprender" (Woman is Learning), which provide scholarships and training, including the awarding of primary and secondary school certificates to older adults.
Regarding health matters, she mentioned the delivery of state-of-the-art mammography and tomography machines, the construction and rehabilitation of hospitals and health centers in Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, José María Morelos, and other localities.
Furthermore, she detailed the rehabilitation of facilities belonging to the Quintana Roo DIF System (Integrated Family Development), including Child Care Centers, Group Homes, and Family Protection Attorney's Offices, transforming abandoned spaces into dignified facilities. She highlighted the commitment and passion of her sister, Verónica Lezama, who leads the effort.
Mara Lezama underscored that these results were achieved thanks to the support of Claudia Sheinbaum, federal and state authorities, and the active participation of the citizenry, consolidating an honest, transparent government that is close to the people.
The event was attended by governors from other states, senators, federal deputies, former governors, municipal presidents, and representatives from various social sectors, who accompanied the governor in the presentation of results and future commitments, reinforcing the continuity of a development project with shared prosperity for all of Quintana Roo.
