On World Environment Day, Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa called upon the residents of Quintana Roo to protect the natural wealth and environment that has provided so much for them. During the day's ceremony, she emphasized the critical need to care for, preserve, and restore the area's natural resources.

Several initiatives have already been undertaken to protect the environment. These include donating land for protected natural areas, organizing beach cleanups, and restoring local ecosystems.

Governor Lezama stressed the importance of sustainable development, advocating for growth that is both orderly and respectful of the environment. She also encouraged further action to ensure a prosperous future for all, particularly in line with the goals of the "Restoration Generation".
