Playa del Carmen, Mexico — As part of the actions under the New Agreement for the Well-being and Development of Quintana Roo, Governor Mara Lezama and Municipal President Estefanía Mercado have launched a free mammogram program aimed at women in Playa del Carmen.

Promoting Early Detection of Breast Cancer

From November 10 to 14, interested women can go to the Playa del Carmen Well-being Unit, located on the federal highway between Playa del Carmen and Cancún, at the height of Avenida Constituyentes, in the CAPA building, first level. The hours of operation will be from 9:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the afternoon.

During the launch of the initiative, Mara Lezama emphasized that prevention is key to saving lives and called on women between the ages of 40 and 69 to take advantage of this free service, which she said represents an act of self-love and health care.

For her part, Estefanía Mercado highlighted that women's health is a priority in her administration and that this type of action reflects the joint work of governments committed to the well-being of the community.

Requirements to Access the Service

Interested women must present:

  • A copy of their valid voter ID card (INE)
  • A copy of their updated CURP (Unique Population Registry Code)
  • Be between 40 and 69 years of age
