The Quintana Roo government is spearheading Conecta Quintana Roo, a social initiative designed to provide internet access to the state's most disadvantaged areas. The program aims to eliminate digital inequality by offering everyone the opportunity to connect to the internet. It primarily targets individuals living in rural areas, Priority Attention Zones, vulnerable situations, or those who cannot afford telephone services.
Conecta Quintana Roo involves distributing a chip that enables connectivity and includes a monthly data allowance. The program is projected to assist at least 50,000 state residents, offering perks such as national and international call minutes, text messages, internet data, and unrestricted access to social media platforms. To be eligible for this service, users must meet specific criteria and submit the necessary documentation.
