QUINTANA ROO, Mexico — The Secretary of Public Education (SEP) has confirmed a four-day holiday weekend for students in Quintana Roo this November. The extended break, set for November 14-17, 2025, will provide a long weekend for basic education students across the state.
Schedule of the November 2025 Holiday Weekend
According to the official calendar from the Secretary of Public Education (SEP), the days without classes for the November 2025 holiday weekend will be:
- Friday, November 14 – A day designated for grade registration and report card distribution, resulting in no classes.
- Saturday, November 15 and Sunday, November 16 – Regular weekend days.
- Monday, November 17 – An official holiday in commemoration of the Anniversary of the Mexican Revolution (November 20).
This schedule means that pre-school, primary, and secondary school students will enjoy four consecutive days off from Friday, November 14, through Monday, November 17, with classes resuming on Tuesday, November 18.
Who Observes the November Holiday Weekend?
The November 2025 holiday weekend applies primarily to students in basic education, encompassing both public and private schools.
For the general workforce, only Monday, November 17, is recognized as an official day off under the Federal Labor Law. Employees required to work on that day are entitled to double or triple pay, as stipulated by legislation.
The holiday weekend is anticipated to be an excellent opportunity for Mexican families to travel, rest, or engage in tourism activities. A notable increase in hotel occupancy is expected in destinations such as Cancún, Playa del Carmen, Tulum, and the Riviera Maya.
