Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — Police arrested four people and seized suspected drugs during simultaneous raids on properties in Playa del Carmen and Cozumel, authorities said.
In Playa del Carmen, officers searched a residence on Magnolia Street in the Misión de las Flores neighborhood and found dried green plant material suspected to be marijuana.
Three people were detained near the property: two men identified as Miguel Ángel N. and a woman identified as Naomi de Jesús N. Officers also found substances believed to be marijuana on them.
The second operation took place at a property on Cisnes Street in the Flamingos II neighborhood of Cozumel, where investigators located dried green plant material and white powder suspected to be cocaine.
Police also arrested Samantha Guadalupe N. in the area. She was also found in possession of a substance believed to be marijuana.
The four suspects and all seized evidence were turned over to the prosecutor’s office, which will determine their legal status and continue the investigation. The raided properties remain secured for further inquiries.
