Armed Robbery Attempt at Tulum Hotel Leads to Four Arrests

TULUM, Mexico — Armed individuals attempted to rob the Diamante K Hotel, owned by businessman and actor Roberto Palazuelos, early this morning but were arrested after fleeing from the location situated within the Jaguar Park.

According to official data, the three men and one woman who perpetrated this act broke into the hotel, threatened a worker to demand the keys to the premises, but when he refused to hand them over, he was beaten.

The worker sustained several injuries, although his health condition was reported as stable after being hospitalized.

After the attack, the criminals fled, but a few hours later police officers managed to locate and capture them at another point in this city.

According to the State Attorney General’s Office, analysis of video surveillance records allowed for the identification and subsequent location of the alleged perpetrators.

Through a statement published this afternoon, the Attorney General’s Office also specified that investigations continue in coordination with the corporations that make up the Interinstitutional Group, with the aim of fully clarifying what occurred.

Additionally, this corporation announced that no hotel guests were affected during the incident.

The detainees were handed over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office, where they face charges of attempted robbery and injuries.

For his part, Roberto Palazuelos, in his X account, highlighted that the arrest of the armed group that entered his hotel was due to the intelligence work of the State Attorney General’s Office.

“The armed group that entered the Diamante K hotel early this morning was arrested. Great intelligence work by the Quintana Roo Attorney General’s Office,” stated the also politician.
