Cancún, Quintana Roo — Juan Manuel "N," a former high-ranking police official in Cancún, was arrested this week for allegedly assaulting his partner in a domestic violence incident. The arrest followed an emergency call made by the victim, authorities confirmed.
Arrest and Investigation
The Specialized Group for Attention to Family and Gender Violence (GEAVIG) detained the suspect, known by the alias "Géminis," in Cancún’s Supermanzana 259 neighborhood. According to officials, the victim received psychological support, legal assistance, and was referred to the Center for Justice for Women.
Evidence and testimony led to "Géminis" being formally charged and turned over to the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
History of Abuse and Power Misuse
Reports from Meganews revealed that Juan Manuel "N" had previously been removed from his position as Deputy Director of Preventive Police in December 2024 due to his involvement in a traffic accident and an altercation at a local establishment. Despite his dismissal, he allegedly continued working from a private office with the support of David Flores Cervantes, a retired naval officer known as "Gavilán."
For months, "Géminis" faced accusations of authoritarian practices and abuse of power but reportedly retained privileges until a recent administrative change dismantled his protective network.
Following this week’s arrest, he was officially listed as a suspect in a domestic violence case.
