Foreign Tourist Dies After Entering Sea at Playa Paraíso in Tulum

Tulum, Quintana Roo — A foreign tourist, approximately 60 years old, died on Monday after entering the sea at Playa Paraíso, near the Hotel Mezzanine within the Jaguar Park area.

According to preliminary information, other visitors pulled the man from the water and attempted to resuscitate him using CPR, but emergency responders confirmed he had no vital signs upon arrival.

The tourist site lacks permanent lifeguards, a situation previously flagged by visitors and service providers, as it forces reliance on external aid during incidents, potentially delaying response times.

Jaguar Park has operated for over a year without municipal lifeguards assigned, meaning any emergency in the area depends on rescue units arriving from other parts of the municipality.

Authorities have begun procedures to officially identify the deceased and clarify the circumstances of the incident.
