Tragic Bathroom Fall Claims Tourist’s Life in Mexico

Playa del Carmen, Mexico — A foreign national lost his life inside an apartment in a condominium complex located in the Gonzalo Guerrero neighborhood of Playa del Carmen. Relatives arrived to visit him and received the tragic news of finding him deceased.

The incident was reported around 2:30 p.m. via the 911 emergency number, alerting authorities to the discovery of a lifeless body in an apartment building on Avenida 45 and Calle 32. The presence of authorities was immediately requested.

Municipal Police officers were the first to arrive on the scene and interviewed the family. Upon approaching the apartment, they quickly detected the fetid odor of the body, which was already in a state of decomposition. They subsequently cordoned off the area and notified the Ministerial Police authorities.

According to preliminary reports, the death is believed to have occurred days earlier following a fall in the bathroom, which caused a head injury. Family members went to the location after having no contact with the person for several days, thus confirming the death. It is presumed that the resident lived alone in the condominium where the incident occurred.

Finally, Ministerial Police agents and criminal investigators arrived at the location to process the scene and remove the corpse.
