Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Quintana Roo — The Attorney General's Office of the State of Quintana Roo, in coordination with the National Guard, carried out a raid on a bar located on streets 61 and 78 in Felipe Carrillo Puerto, resulting in the protection of five women who are presumed victims of human trafficking in the form of prostitution for another.
The operation was conducted following an order issued by a control judge, stemming from investigative and field work carried out by the Investigative Police.
According to initial inquiries, the women initially went to the bar to apply for jobs as waitresses who solicit drinks, but once hired, they were allegedly forced to offer sexual services to clients. Payments ranged from 800 to 1,000 pesos for half an hour, of which the establishment kept 50 percent of the earnings. This dynamic, authorities stated, constitutes a scheme of sexual exploitation to the detriment of the workers.
Evidence Seized in the Raid
During the judicial proceeding, participating officers seized cash, documents, packages of condoms, and a video recorder. All of this evidence was placed under the custody of the Public Prosecutor's Office as part of the investigation file.
Furthermore, upon concluding the operation, agents placed seizure seals on the property, which will remain under the custody of the Social Representation while the investigation progresses.
The five protected women will receive corresponding attention as victims of human trafficking, while the Attorney General's Office strengthens the evidence to determine the liabilities of the alleged perpetrators.
This case adds to the efforts of authorities to combat human trafficking and sexual exploitation crimes in Quintana Roo, one of the states with the highest incidence of this type of crime in the southeast of the country.
The Attorney General's Office of Quintana Roo stated in a social media post: "FGE of Quintana Roo protects five women presumed victims of trafficking and prostitution in a bar in Felipe Carrillo Puerto. The victims were located during the execution of a search warrant, in coordination with the National Guard."
