Cancún, Quintana Roo — Five men have been sentenced to prison terms ranging from 16 years and eight months to 50 years after the Quintana Roo State Prosecutor’s Office proved their responsibility in three homicides and one attempted homicide carried out in Benito Juárez and Felipe Carrillo Puerto.
In the first hearing, a trial judge handed 50 years to Uzziel Fabrizzio Morales Favila and 25 years each to Ángel Gilberto Boli Pérez and Francisco Javier Córdova Cruz for the killing of a man on June 16, 2023, in Supermanzana 251 of Benito Juárez.
Investigators said the victim was walking along Isla Guadalupe street when the three men intercepted and chased him into a business, where Morales Favila shot him several times, killing him. Prosecutors established that the motive was linked to local drug dealing.
Alongside the prison terms, Morales Favila must pay a fine of 311,220 pesos, while Boli Pérez and Córdova Cruz each face a fine of 155,610 pesos. The three were also ordered to jointly pay 349,882.13 pesos in compensation for moral damages.
Attempted Killing In Supermanzana 99
In a separate trial, Jesús Manuel Elizalde Vega received a sentence of 16 years and eight months for attempted homicide.
The case dates to May 16, 2023, at an ironworks shop in Supermanzana 99, where he was drinking alcohol with the victim. After an argument, he grabbed a pointed metal bar and struck the victim repeatedly in the abdomen. Elizalde Vega was also ordered to pay a fine of 103,740 pesos.
Felipe Carrillo Puerto Case
The third case unfolded in Felipe Carrillo Puerto, where Dani Alexander Ventura Ramírez was sentenced to 31 years and three months for homicide.
According to the investigation, on January 29, 2023, he and another man took the victim to a dirt road beside the federal highway, where they questioned him about drug-related matters and then shot him in the head before abandoning the body.
