In the Paraíso Maya neighborhood of Cancún, police found dried plant material resembling marijuana and detained five men identified as Ángel “N,” Asael “N,” José Luis “N,” Kennedy “N,” and Moisés “N.” Officers also seized a handgun with a loaded magazine and additional doses of green plant material from one suspect.

Additional quantities of dried plant material were secured in another Cancún neighborhood, while a third location yielded bags of similar vegetation, live ammunition, and a bill-counting machine.

In Playa del Carmen’s Las Palmas 1 neighborhood, authorities seized more doses of dried plant material.

In Cozumel’s Magisterio neighborhood, police located green plant material and solid fragments resembling the drug known as “piedra” (crack cocaine).

All evidence and detainees were turned over to the State Prosecutor’s Office, which will determine their legal status according to constitutional procedures. The searched properties remain under the prosecutor’s custody.
