Cancun, Quintana Roo — Authorities confirmed the first death from an armed attack that occurred early Monday morning at Fushion Sport Bar in Cancun’s Region 228, located on Kabah Avenue near Niños Héroes Avenue.
Officials reported that Junior “N” died around 9:00 a.m. while receiving medical treatment for serious injuries sustained during the assault. Hospital staff notified emergency services, prompting a response from security personnel and forensic investigators.
The shooting took place at approximately 1:30 a.m. when armed individuals, believed to be hitmen, arrived at the establishment in a white vehicle—though some reports suggest a pickup truck—and opened fire on people inside the bar.
The attack left at least five people injured. Following the shooting, one wounded person managed to transport themselves to the General Hospital, while another received initial treatment from paramedics at the scene before being taken to the same hospital.
A third injured person was found several blocks away after attempting to flee and was assisted by a private ambulance. Two other wounded individuals initially went to a private clinic where they did not receive care and were later transported by Red Cross units to the General Hospital.
Authorities stated that four people remain hospitalized, though they have not specified whether they were customers or employees of the bar.
Municipal police officers cordoned off the area after the attack, while personnel from the State Prosecutor’s Office collected evidence and opened an investigation. No arrests have been reported.
