Jorge Vásquez Oropeza, Secretary of Civil Protection of Solidaridad, has confirmed that the sale of fireworks during national holidays in Playa Del Carmen is strictly prohibited. He clarified that no active operations are being conducted against the sale of these explosives. Instead, the authorities rely on public reports to take action. "So far, we have not received any complaints from the public about this issue," he stated.

Oropeza also mentioned that the Directorate of Civil Protection, Risk Prevention, and Firefighters is fully prepared to prevent any incidents during the national holidays. This includes the Independence Day parade, which is expected to draw more than 3,800 participants.

He further noted that 95 members from his directorate will be part of the parade. Despite their participation, the Civil Protection team will remain vigilant throughout the parade route to ensure the event proceeds without incident, according to Oropeza.
