Cancún, Quintana Roo — A federal service vehicle crashed into a traffic light pole at the intersection of Xcaret and Tankah avenues in Cancún early Saturday morning, allegedly due to speeding.
The accident occurred around 3:30 a.m. when emergency services received a report of a traffic incident in front of the Sam’s Club store, prompting the mobilization of authorities and paramedics.
Upon arrival, authorities confirmed it was a white Nissan Versa with federal service plates, driven by 29-year-old Silvestre “N,” who reported losing control of the vehicle while driving on those roads.
According to the report, the car first hit the median; however, due to the speed, it continued its trajectory until crashing into a metal pole, causing various material damages.
The driver was taken to the facilities of the Traffic Directorate to complete the corresponding procedures and determine responsibilities.
