Fatal Stabbing in Cancun’s Cielo Nuevo Neighborhood Leaves One Dead
Cancun, Quintana Roo — A man was stabbed to death Saturday afternoon during a brawl in the Cielo Nuevo housing development in Cancun’s Region 259, authorities said.
The attack occurred on Isla Saona Street at the corner of Avenida Isla Contoy. The victim, identified by neighbors only by his nickname “El Tilín,” was involved in a confrontation that escalated into a knife attack, according to preliminary reports.
The man suffered multiple stab wounds and died at the scene. His body was found lying next to a food cart. Residents called 911 after discovering the injured man on the public street.
Municipal police officers arrived and cordoned off the area to preserve evidence. The alleged attackers had already fled before authorities arrived, prompting an immediate search and investigation.
State prosecutor’s office investigators and forensic experts processed the scene and removed the body. The prosecutor’s office has opened a case file to determine the motive and locate those responsible.
