A violent shooting occurred outside the Chilam Balam hotel in Tulum, resulting in one fatality and one serious injury. The attack happened around midnight, prompting a significant response from local law enforcement who are still searching for the perpetrators.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing between eight and twelve gunshots. Following the attack, one of the victims managed to retreat into the hotel for safety, but unfortunately succumbed to their injuries inside the building.
Entrepreneur Critically Injured in Cancún Shooting
The second victim, critically wounded, was quickly transported to the Costa Med Hospital by an ambulance from the Tulum Hospital. Their condition remains critical.
Local and state police officers were dispatched to secure the area. Red Cross paramedics were also on the scene, providing immediate medical assistance to the injured individual before their hospital transfer.
At this time, authorities have not confirmed whether the victims were guests at the hotel, and no information has been released about the attackers. The vicinity remains under police guard as forensic experts from the State Attorney's Office carry out their investigations.
