Joaquín Hendricks Díaz, the former governor of Quintana Roo, was involved in a multi-vehicle accident in Cancun's hotel zone. The incident, which occurred yesterday afternoon, was only publicly disclosed today.

Reports suggest that the accident happened when Hendricks Díaz lost control of his vehicle on Kulkulcán Boulevard, near the 5-kilometer mark. His vehicle veered off course, hitting the central median strip. This sudden maneuver led to the vehicle behind him crashing into the rear of his van.

The chain reaction didn't stop there. A motorcyclist lost control and crashed into the rear windshield of the second vehicle. Paramedics were called to the scene to attend to the motorcyclist.

The Cancun Tourist Police took charge of the incident. Hendricks Díaz was taken to the police station to complete necessary procedures. As of now, it is unclear whether the former governor will be held responsible for the accident.
