Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — The government of Estefanía Mercado, through the helicopter of the Playa del Carmen Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) and in coordination with the Secretariat of Civil Protection, Risk Prevention, and Firefighters, carried out its second humanitarian rescue in less than a month. The operation involved the emergency airlift of a severely injured individual following a traffic accident this afternoon on the Playa del Carmen–Tulum highway.
Swift Emergency Response Saves Life
The prompt action of emergency personnel, including Civil Protection and Citizen Security teams, allowed for the stabilization of the injured individual, who was classified as a "code red" case. The patient was urgently transported by air to Playa del Carmen General Hospital, where they are now receiving specialized medical care.
This latest rescue underscores the effectiveness of the human-centered security model promoted by Estefanía Mercado’s administration, which prioritizes the lives and dignity of individuals in every action. The government’s commitment is clear: to build a safe, compassionate city prepared to respond swiftly and professionally to emergencies, both within and beyond municipal boundaries.
