Enrique Arturo, known as "El Tuga" and owner of the popular bar chain 'McCarthy's Irish Pub', was arrested on charges of illegal deprivation of liberty, as reported by the National Detention Registry (RND). The arrest took place outside San Miguel prison in Puebla city on Friday, July 5, around 10:45.
Preliminary reports suggest that the Mexican businessman's arrest was led by investigators from the Attorney General's Office (FGE). Details surrounding the charges are still unclear, but the RND's report suggests that the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in Investigation of Kidnapping and Extortion is involved in the case.
Following his arrest, Arturo was transported to the Izúcar de Matamoros Justice House. His legal status will be determined there. The FGE has yet to release an official statement regarding the arrest.
