Puerto Aventuras, Quintana Roo — An elderly woman died suddenly on Monday afternoon inside a mototaxi after shopping at a Waldo’s store located near Puerto Maya in the town of Puerto Aventuras, Solidaridad municipality.
What Happened?
According to initial reports, the death occurred around 4:15 p.m. when the woman boarded a mototaxi after leaving the commercial establishment. During the journey, the vehicle’s driver noticed that his passenger was not responding, so he stopped the unit and immediately notified authorities upon realizing the elderly woman was unconscious.
How Did Authorities Respond?
Municipal Police officers went to the site after receiving the emergency report. Upon arrival, they confirmed that the woman remained lifeless inside the mototaxi, so they requested support from medical services. Minutes later, paramedics arrived at the location and conducted an assessment; however, they could only confirm that the woman no longer had vital signs.
Why Did the Death Occur?
Preliminarily, it was reported that the cause of death would have been a fulminant cardiac arrest. Although the mototaxi driver tried to assist her upon noticing her critical health condition, the woman did not survive. So far, no signs of violence have been detected, so the case remains as a death from natural causes, according to initial data provided by authorities.
