Cancun, Quintana Roo — Authorities seized drugs and arrested two people during coordinated raids on three bars in Puerto Cancun and several other locations across Quintana Roo state.
The State Prosecutor’s Office (FGE) confirmed that police found marijuana, crack, cocaine, and crystal meth during searches of three establishments on Bonampak Avenue in the Puerto Cancun area early Saturday morning. Two of the bars, identified as Barezzito and Estatus, were sealed by authorities.
The raids were part of seven total operations conducted in the municipalities of Benito Juárez, Lázaro Cárdenas, Bacalar, and Othón P. Blanco. In Cancun, agents detained Jovani Josgar “N” on suspicion of drug dealing. The three targeted bars remain closed with FGE seals as investigations into drug sales and consumption continue.
In Lázaro Cárdenas municipality, authorities searched a piano bar on the Ideal-Chiquila highway and seized marijuana. Three additional operations took place in southern Quintana Roo as part of investigations by the Special Prosecutor’s Office for Combating Drug Dealing.
In El Tesoro, Othón P. Blanco municipality, agents searched a property and found portions of marijuana and cocaine, leading to the arrest of Yoni “N,” who was carrying doses of various drugs. Initial investigations suggest Yoni “N” may be part of a criminal group involved in drug dealing in the area.
In Bacalar municipality, FGE agents conducted two searches of properties along Federal Highway 307, where they seized surveillance cameras and recording equipment. Authorities noted that one of the properties was not secured during the operation.
