10 Experiences is a unique culinary event that combines an audiovisual presentation with a 10-course pairing dinner, each dish representing a different Mexican state. On a recent visit to Cozumel Island, we stumbled upon this immersive gastronomic journey through the diverse regions of Mexico.

The venture is the brainchild of Lorena Sanroman and Alejandro Torres. This couple turned their passion for Mexican culture into a family business five years ago. They aimed to create something extraordinary, and their efforts quickly garnered praise and recognition. 10 Experiences offers a multisensory introduction to Mexico, showcasing its rich flavors, varied textures, and visually appealing presentations.

The event features a meticulously crafted audiovisual presentation, narrated by certified professional tour guides, followed by a pairing dinner. Guests are welcomed in the courtyard, where a chalkboard displays information about the regions to be explored that evening. The guides discuss the culture, history, and geography associated with each region's culinary traditions, including the different distilled spirits unique to each area.

The experience incorporates a variety of cooking methods and techniques, such as nixtamalizing, charring, battering, pounding, fermenting, and pickling. Regional music accompanies the meal, further immersing guests in the atmosphere. Over 50 products from all 32 Mexican states are served across four separate experiences, with each dish encapsulating the essence of Mexico and conveying its customs, traditions, and charming towns.

The menu at 10 Experiences is ever-changing, featuring iconic dishes from states like Veracruz, Guerrero, CDMX, Puebla, San Luis Potosi, Cozumel, the MAYAB Peninsula, Oaxaca, Estado de Mexico, and Guanajuato. Dishes may range from coconut aioli and pico de gallo shrimp to beef jerky strips with tequila, and treats like tamale stuffed with cochinita pibil and guava sweet roll.
