Tulum, Quintana Roo — The disappearance of Bélgica Cruz Reyes, a 50-year-old woman last seen leaving a nightclub in downtown Tulum, has been classified as a priority case by the Quintana Roo State Attorney General’s Office (FGE). Witness accounts and surveillance footage suggest a possible illegal deprivation of liberty, prompting authorities to escalate the investigation.
Key Details of the Disappearance
According to preliminary reports, Cruz Reyes was last seen on Monday, June 16, exiting a nightlife establishment in the city center. Surveillance cameras captured her boarding a motorcycle driven by an individual who has since been identified by witnesses. Investigators suspect the driver did not act alone and that additional individuals may be involved in her disappearance.
The FGE issued an official search notice (file number 195/ZN/2025) on the evening of June 19 and activated the Alba Protocol, a specialized mechanism for locating missing women, with an emphasis on potential gender-based violence.
Physical Description and Last Known Attire
Cruz Reyes is described as a Mexican national with a medium-brown complexion, slim build, standing approximately 1.50 meters tall, and weighing around 65 kilograms. She has shoulder-length, straight hair dyed brown with silver highlights. A distinguishing feature is a shortened finger on her right hand, the result of a prior accident.
On the day of her disappearance, she was wearing a sleeveless pink dress with a white collar and black sandals. Authorities confirmed she worked in the cleaning department of a downtown Tulum hotel and had no known history of prior disappearances or conflicts that would raise concerns about her safety.
Call for Public Assistance
The FGE urges anyone with information regarding Cruz Reyes’s whereabouts to contact their hotline at 984 873 0163. All tips will be handled confidentially. Investigators are reviewing additional surveillance footage, conducting interviews with acquaintances, and tracing potential escape routes. No lines of inquiry have been ruled out, and the FGE remains open to new leads.
The case remains under active investigation.
