Playa del Carmen, Quintana Roo — The medical unit operating inside the DIF Playa del Carmen facilities will be relocated to the 28 de Julio neighborhood health center, according to DIF General Director Deyanira Martinez.
Martinez said the move is part of a reorganization of municipal health services following the transfer of the Mental Health Centers and the Women’s Clinic from the Municipal Health Department to the DIF system.
Services will maintain their hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and officials are evaluating capacity to determine how many appointments can be offered. Patients can begin scheduling consultations now.
The director said medical services are expected to start operating at the new location by the end of this month.
The 28 de Julio health center recently underwent renovation and expansion, and received new equipment to provide medical care to the public.
Separately, Martinez clarified that the Municipal Children’s Rehabilitation Center (CRIM) continues to operate normally and has not suspended services. The Prosthetics and Orthotics areas adjacent to CRIM underwent only adjustments and are expected to resume services soon.
